The rods are produced with infinite radius (R = ∞), meaning full surface flatness on the end faces.
Permissible deviations are controlled according to the following optical criteria (at 632 nm reference wavelength):

Figure Accuracy (Power / Irregularity):  Power: up to 2 fringes; Irregularity: up to 1/2 fringe.
Surface Quality (Scratch/Dig): 20/10 standard.
Clear Aperture: ≥ 90%.
Surface Coating: Not applied (N/A).
